At this point, need to nail down third-party dependencies. This group will make best effort to update, but need to bring results back to TC when a quorum is available.

Backend

Will need to bump up versions on Spring and Vertex libraries, but not clear which versions. Likely:

• Spring Boot 3.4

• Spring Framework 6.2 (expected release in November this year).

Think we can still stay on Java 17

Verte.x 5 is in planning but we have no timing information

Frontend

Uncertain with the current attendees.

Infrastructure

Postgresql: 16 is still most recent, 17 Beta 2 came out in June. Revisit next release.

Opensearch & Elasticsearch: still using most recent releases.

MSK/Kafka & S3/MinIO: @Taras Spashchenko will investigate versions and report back.

• AWS S3: AWS SDK for Java v2 must be used

• MinIO: need to review with the DevOps community which versions are in use currently. https://github.com/minio/minio/releases/tag/RELEASE.2024-07-16T23-46-41Z is the last stable release.

• Kafka (MSK): 3.5.1 or higher (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/msk/latest/developerguide/supported-kafka-versions.html
