Discussion Topics
  • Announcement about a Change in OSTs for Ramsons (forwarded from T.C. — see Ingolf's post in Slack #sys-ops)
  • Report about the Work of the Early Adopters Group
  • Critical (tight) timeline for migrating to Eureka. On the first day of Trilium, production instances will have to be migrated to Eureka, because then the Okapi releases will fall out of support. Migration of the environment should take place in Ransoms, because in this release both Okapi und Eureka are being supported. Questionable, if someone except for EBSCO will be able to deploy Eureka already in Quesnelia. Sunflower will not support Okapi, anymore.
  • Problem with Refresh Token Rotation (RTR). Shelley and Wayne report, that RTR does not work when Okapi is being used in clustered mode. EBSCO does not have this problem. We assume that this is due to the fact that they are not deploying on Kubernetes (but on ECS). Because, out of security reasons, it is not an option to disable RTR, there will be a Quesnelia CSP which will fix this issue. It is not yet in the CSP#9.
  • Discussion around Longhorn Storage Volumes. Florian G. reports that they fail (under heavy load?), but he assumes that this is due to insufficent hardware capabilities. LRZ will raise hardware capabilities to prove this assumption. Alternatives to Longhorn Storage: OpenEBS.
  • Ingolf reports that mod-dcb creates a catalogue instance, a service point and an institution in Quesnelia. (mod-dcb is new in Quesnelia). Some find that annoying. Ingolf will not enable mod-dcb in Quesnelia in production. Shelly already does this, they don't deploy mod-dcb and mod-circulation-item in Quesnelia. Stanford neither deploys mod-remote-storage. But this will throw 404 Errors some times. — mod-dcb is "a FOLIO local NCIP", useful if all consortia members are on FOLIO (DCB stands for direct consortia borrowing).
  • mod-remote-storage:

mod-remote-storage is a very busy noisy thing ; Stanford takes it out. But they have remote storage and integration with CaiaSoft. There is also edge-caiasoft. But Caiasoft won't use it.
