Mark Veksler presented to release plan for 2021 in the PC meeting yesterday. Iris has been postponed from April to May 3rd. Other two releases - Juniper and Kiwi - are scheduled for 2021 (August and November, resp.)

Many plan to go live with Iris, so exact release date is important to set timelines for implementation and testing.

Better would be 1 release per month.

It is also a problem, that more and more apps communicate directly with each other. That was not the original intention of the Library Platform project. This makes the system look more and more like a monolithic system.  With every release this is getting worse and worse. This needs to be stopped (and reversed). It concerns the interactions between applications. It is not a problem of the work of the groups, but a problem of how that is being implemented.

Kafka and pubsub were introduced also to eliminate these hard dependencies.

Harry has scheduled a meeting for a group of Tech Leads and the TC folks. It will be a meeting about dependencies, not about the release process. The meeting has been scheduled for Jan 22nd. The release process needs a lot of work.
