5WelcomeIngolfa rather spontaneous meeting, because we had no agenda.

 News from the community

Ingolf reported about the status and efforts of the GBV/VZG implementation.

Data Migration when upgrading modules is considered critical. We hope that there will be only one library which has to do the migration from Q3.2 → Q4 (Chalmers).

Postgres clustering is a topic at TAMU, Lehigh and GBV. TAMU wants to use an Enterprise Level Postgres with a master in two data centers. Since it is all open source, there will be no license fees, only the implementation costs. All three want to use pgpool.

Discussion about Reporting LDP and ERM data. Duke, Cornell, GBV and Leipzig want to use this. It is not clear how the data will wander from the ERM module into the LDP. Angela Zoss of Duke has some experiences with using the LDP and shared them with Jason. Streaming data into the LDP is now working. But the LDP working group needs more data.

Integration

So far, only SSO integration has been implemented at TAMU. SIP2 is working live at Chalmers. Bibliotheca had to be configured. 3M-machines have been integrated at TAMU. - SIP2 is an "ancient" and very insecure protocol. Vendors should change to some more modern protocol but refuse to do so.

OAI-PMH

OAI-PMH integrates for Voyager at TAMU. Also, MarcEdit can connect via OAI-PMH.

We will wait to meet about integrations, until more institutions will have actually done more integrations.
