Our reporting developers are requesting assistance from the Reporting SIG to volunteer to peer-review queries and related pull requests via GitHub.

The benefits of volunteering to review report queries include:

  • gaining experience with running report queries
  • learning more about how the report queries work
  • contributing directly to the report repository that is shared by the FOLIO community

FOLIO Reporting developers and Reporting SIG members are encouraged to use this new page to share test data cases they have entered into FOLIO reference environments to keep us all aware of what data to expect when we test our queries.

Project updates

Reporting development is using small subgroups to address priorities and complete work on report queries.  Each week, these groups will share reports/queries with the Reporting SIG.  Reporting development team leads are encouraged to enter a summary of their work group activities below.

  • Will present the shelf and pick list reports to working group tomorrow.
  • The duplicate orders report has been delayed
  • Working group uses this spreadsheet to track JIRA issues, priority, and reports needed.

Reporting SIG Documentation Subgroup

SIG Conveners Group

    • All SIG conveners met Friday January 22 to discuss FOLIO Training and Documentation from their areas
    • Sharon described how Reporting SIG documentation is both on our wiki and on GitHub for the FOLIO Analytics Report Repository
    • future update to Product Council on status of SIG documentation and training materials considered
    • outstanding questions:
      • more information needed on how to use the FOLIO documentation pages at https://docs.folio.org/docs/
      • how to approach shared documentation areas such as app interaction and configuration settings
    • ideas for completing documentation:
      • use BugFest test case descriptions to start
      • use SIG wiki pages
      • work on documentation during SIG meetings

MARC Data Use Cases Group

    • update from our meetings Friday Jan 15 and Friday Jan 22

RM Working Group

  • several new derived tables to support Orders query
  • finishing up orders query for LDP 1.0
  • item count query done for LDP 1.0
  • ACRL expenditures, title count, and volume count in progress and planned for LDP 1.1

External Statistics Working Group

  • ACRL query set to be targeted for LDP 1.1 release
  • new organizational/tracking scheme for JIRA, with pointers to queries in folio-analytics repository
  • New organizational structure for External Statistics reports
    • external statistics reports (e.g., ACRL) typically require running queries from different functional reporting areas
    • these reports will be captured in JIRA under one UXPROD-XXXX report cluster issue, then the descriptions will point to each of the queries required to run them on the folio-analytics repository
    • institutions will need to rank each of these 8 new UXPROD-XXXX report cluster issues
    • each reporting development team will take responsibility for the queries in their area for the external statistics clusters
