Maintaining Derived Tables

Maintaining Derived Tables

A collection of derived tables to use with Metadb has been created and maintained by the FOLIO Reporting SIG.

These tables are tested and updated by members of the Reporting SIG when a new version of the FOLIO software is released to make sure they are running properly and to add new or modify existing data points as needed. In addition, new tables may be added as needed by the various institutions running Metadb.

FOLIO Analytics Review Board

-Corrie Hutchinson from EBSCO and Mark Canney from Lehigh have offered to review PRs for derived tables as they are updated

-Natalya Pikulik from Cornell mentioned that there are new fields for MARC instance for deletion and history of the instance record that should be considered for adding to related derived tables

Overview of Process for Updating Derived Tables

  • See https://github.com/folio-org/folio-analytics/tree/main/sql_metadb/derived_tables

  • Review table in your Metadb instance to see if updates are needed, or create and test a new table in your instance

  • Once table looks good, submit a Pull Request at the Main fork of the FOLIO Analytics GitHub repository so it can be reviewed and merged into the next version of derived tables

  • Review Process is documented here:
