Workflow Development Updates

Prototype and Discuss Post

Filip Jakobsen

Small group (Filip, Kathryn, Charlotte, Martina, and Eric) will meet to discuss the workflows after this meeting. The group will look through documents developed at Boston meeting to pull out relative examples that could be used to test out the workflow concept. Also have spreadsheets that have various workflows that will be used. Filip went through Discuss comments and broke them into a few categories including new ideas and things to consider during the development. There are two areas that particularly need refinement - actual triggers and steps examples and workflow app logic. Some key takeaways: 1) there needs to be some dummy data so that things can be tested before changes are made on a large group; 2) extreme load warning; 3) the ability to rollback changes; 4) permission management - being able to assign steps to people or groups of people, and determining who can edit a workflow. Workflows need flexibility - changes can be made ad hoc - to avoid getting stuck in a template. Each step/trigger will open up an overlay which can be used to provide an explanation/description of the step/trigger and link to other helpful articles. Not all of the features being discussed will be in V1. The goal is to figure out the structure using some examples and then determine the most important features to tackle. Sebastian suggested figuring out the implications on V1. Automation vs. batch processing. Should there be a specialized, central app for workflows or should each app handle its own workflows? Should we look at the apps that will be in V1 to figure out where it will fit in?

 Acquisitions work update: Vendors

Leah Elzinga and Ann-Marie Breaux (Deactivated)

Small group working with Stacks formed to try to make some quick progress and then work would be brought back to the RM SIG. Stacks has created a data dictionary and started mapping out how it interacts with everything. Small group has mainly been focused on the screens, particularly the vendor screen (prototype).

Kevin and Ann-Marie walked through the prototype (see recording).

Maybe we should take a look at the entity relationship diagram at the next meeting?

Feedback can be provided to Ann-Marie who will share it with the group.
