Announcements/Updates

Receiving print serial issues and the connection with Inventory

  • A show and tell from the University of Chicago

@Natascha Owens

Natasha Owens – demonstrated receiving print issues in their ILS and how it interacts with their holdings.

In folio – we would want the checked in issues to show in Folio’s receiving history and in inventory, and display to public.

Discussion around how some libraries want to  attach a call number at check in, some do not. Some material need an item record at check in, some do not.

Receiving updates for Q1 2020

@Dennis Bridges

  • Piece information in folio is connected to title. Not far from being able to show pieces that do not have item records in inventory.

  • Process of receipt in folio is similar to overall flow demonstrated by Natasha.

  • Ability to search what needs to be received by title or product ID. (product id = issn or isbn)

  • Before was a receiving order or a check in order. Now there is a receiving app for both. There is a full history now for receiving in one area.

  • Demonstrated an order for one time, ongoing and package.

  • Now the ability to order a package and have multiple titles received against that package.

    • Containers are still on the radar. However, not there yet.

  • Demonstrated adding an agreement to a pol

  • Patterns for subscriptions are planned for the future
