Announcements

Draft agenda: Bulk of content Monday-Thursday. Friday impacted by Duke graduation. ERM workshop on Monday and Thursday. The intention is that this will be a small group - Kristin, Kirstin and Harry will work on a list of invites, ideally only one person per institution. Planning group for WOLFCon should be meeting today to finalize the agenda.

There is going to be a new MARCH Batch Loading subgroup under Metadata Management. Ann-Marie Breaux (Deactivated) is the Product Owner. Currently records load as a blob, cannot update records during the upload - work to add this functionality. If you want to be on the subgroup, email Kristin and Ann-Marie. Subgroup page

Epics for Resource Management: General Review

Original Feature Backlog list for Resource Management.

  • The priorities listed reflect the priorities from our survey in summer 2017 and may not be reflective of our current priorities.
  • Items will be moving from spreadsheet for tracking to Issues as large user stories (epics). Kanban board details the epics.

Epic - a way to classify/group functionality that make up a feature across apps. Example: Contacts management = add, update, deleted contacts. The smaller steps are referred to as stories. The features/epics will be prioritized and the stories within each feature will also be prioritized.

Spreadsheet: Is Contacts Management feature covered by Vendor app? This is a point of discussion at WOLFCon. Invoices? Work already being done with Acquisitions app - this will be more apparent when this is added to JIRA. Holdings is the same. The spreadsheet needs to be reconciled with the discussion from the ERM subgroup (Owen's list) and refined. The assumption is that Owen's list will end up in JIRA.

JIRA: http://folio-org.atlassian.net  You can use the same login credentials as those used for the FOLIO Wiki. If you don't have one, you can request it. JIRA is organized in Kanban boards. Items are prioritized top to bottome; left to right denotes the progress. UXPROD V1 EPICS is all EPICS (v1 and post-v1). For RM, features above the line are in the "Development" column. Based on Owen's list, ERM features will begin to be moved into "Analysis" column. If it seems the work can be done, the post-v1 tag will probably be removed. Can see when a feature was added, who's working on it, who completed it, testing information, etc. - a complete picture of the progress. Privileges to modify? PO has full rights as do the developers. If you need rights to modify, you'll need to request them. Can add a watch alert to a feature so that you'll get notified when something changes.

Advanced Searching functionality within and between FOLIO apps

Kimie Ou Yang's recorded walkthrough on Discuss:

All SIG members are encouraged to view the discuss post/ recording (30 min walkthrough) and post comments there as well.

Search Patterns:

  1. Advanced searching
Pattern 1: "ADV" button pulls up a list of frequently used searches, similar to an emoji button in messaging apps.
Pattern 2: "ADV" (toggle) button pulls up frequently used that can be selected
Pattern 3: Will provide suggestions as you type; both simple and advanced search

  2. Boolean searching
Pattern 1: Search box with pop up overlay for advanced searching with several search fields and the option to add more.
Pattern 2: Advanced search functionality (same as above) box displays below search box
Pattern 3: Select advanced search options from a menu

  3. Sources/Filters selection
Pattern 1: Can ignore sources but if you click on "Select Sources", a pop up overlay will display with sources to select from
Pattern 2: Tree/expandable style filter, can also click on "See all options" to open pop up overlay - once selected these will display in tree view.
Pattern 3: Search box and drop down list plus expandable list

  4. Complex data display (including faceted searching)
-Should include suggested spelling (for typos)

Will try to have a working demo for WOLFCon.
