Hi all. Users app has now two new functionalities, which has already demoed at UM SIG. For testing please go to https://folio-snapshot.dev.folio.org/1. UXPROD-2269 Patron Block Templates:

  • Go to Settings/Users/Patron block templates

  • Create a block template

  • Go to Users app and create a block

  • Choose block template and save


2. UXPROD-2389 Default Expiration dates and re/calculation of Expiration date

  • Go to Settings/Users/Patron group

  • Set Expiration date offset (in days)

  • Go to Users app

  • Use case 1: Create new user, choose patron group with default expiration date, the exp date will be calculated and autofilled

  • Use case 2: Change to another patron group with default exp date, the exp date will be calculated and autofilled

  • Use case 3: Expired, inactive user, press "Recalculate" button, the expiration date will be recalculated and autofilled according to the settings. This is sort of re-register functionality known from some lagacy ILS.

  • Functionality is accompanied by dialogues

  • Product Council updates

    • Governance plan approved by stakeholders, including some suggestions from this group and others

      • member organizations - development or other resources, money with MOUs

      • individual members - individuals from member organizations

      • Starting with nominations for community council, feb 26 -march 12 voting

      • Aug 2 hoping to have elected product and technical councils in place

    • SMEs to be more involved in bugfest earlier in process, better insight, each SIG will get a presentation about how this will work, looking at MM work as a potential model, possibly testing functionality as sprints happen

  • Really good start to RA documentation process

    • challenges to access, where to place the documentation

    • maybe group by contributor

    • perhaps have a space for unvetted documentation, contributions from larger community

  • Honeysuckle updates

    • Simmons has not gone live yet due to data import issues

    • Duke discovered module permission issue with user import: https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/MODUIMP-40, will be able to proceed with Honeysuckle for ERM only

    • Missouri State has not upgraded to Honeysuckle for the same reason, also raised issue of merging user accounts

    • Lehigh just started testing Honeysuckle, everything seems to be going well

    • Chicago blocks not working consistently

    • support workflows for implementing libraries-go into edit and tag as P1, P2, P3 for support priority for implementing libraries, or add a comment if you don't have permission

  • Leipzig is asking for feedback on snapchat for default expiration dates for user dates by patron group when creating or updating a user record's patron group

    • recalculate button is needed for semi-automatic for those who don't want it to happen automatically or for users who have expired

    • Erin does not like the pop-up, Andrea wants pop-up because you may not always want to change the date

    • best way to provide feedback is via Slack channel

  • Lepizig also introduced a patron block template for manual patron blocks

    • again, provide feedback
