Loans

@Emma Boettcher

Track searches for claimed items on loans, not items

Allow users to add notes to search (not required)
Set maximum count by service point
Claim returned report should include Borrower barcode, Item barcode, Item title, Call number, Claimed returned date, # of searches & last time searched, Effective location (Library & shelving), physical description, comments entered when claimed, but need better understanding of report vs. search list

  • Would be interesting in long term to extend tracking searches to other missing items, but claimed returned items' searches are much more based on patrons

  • Different library branches may have different policies for search

Notes

Emma: Tracking searches for claimed return. Emma shared wireframes.

  • From loan details, add searches in actions dropdown and track searches in action history.

  • Should the note be optional? Yes.

  • Should claims live on loan or item? Better to have it on the loan. In the future should add search process for missing items not on loan.

  • Should setting for number of searches reside at tenant level or service desk level? Whatever is easier for development.

Report to look at claimed returns. From Users app.

  • What filters are needed? Location. Number of searches (Need ability to filter by library and sort by shelving location). Date something became claimed returned.

  • Will the report be a CSV dump or Picklist format? Emma will investigate.
