2018-04-10 Patron notices sub-group

The group reviewed a mockup of the notice definition and configuration screen.

The module allows configuration of notices by a matrix of condition variables and condition data.

For example, one type of overdue notice could be configured for "item status is overdue and loan type is reserve".  In addition to the conditions, the timing of sending the notice is configurable as immediately or after an interval before or after some trigger.

Email, SMS and Print notices can be specified.

The text of notices is editable. Developers propose using a templating language for the

notice text and variable item information.  This would allow looping through multiple items.  It might also be possible to make minor variations in wording for different patron groups without creating separate notices.

Mark suggested a test mode would be very useful. It would be good to have some common notices (recall, overdue) delivered with the product.  These could them be modified rather than created from scratch.

There is also a need to indicate somewhere what notices need to be sent in batch at a specified time.

Institutions will need to send special notices for selected criteria.  For example, notices to graduating students about library accounts.  Need a way to configure these and send to specified borrowers.
