FOLIO Design/Development Process

Darcy

  • Showed slides depicting SIGs, PO and UX Designers roles specific to FOLIO

  • User-centered/participatory design approach

  • Filip Jakobsen is the lead UX Designer for the FOLIO platform and overall vision

  • For this sub-group, Darcy encourages input and feedback from everyone. We all have something important to contribute and don't be shy, ask questions. Each institution may have different needs, so flexibility is important. Also, at times, Darcy may need to rein in the conversation and narrow the focus. It's not because what we're saying isn't important, but it might need to be tabled so we can stay focused on a particular feature.

  •  It’s open for anyone to view, but to edit (take notes – see below), you’ll need to create a user account by going to https://folio-org.atlassian.net/secure/Signup!default.jspa. We'll keep our meeting notes here.

Printing Slips - define what's meant by this and review spreadsheet

Darcy

  • Defined each column header (basic data, trigger, etc.)

  • Added an auto/manual column

  • Each item elicited a lot of back and forth about our institution’s procedures and needs; captured summary in spreadsheet

  • Left off at Routing Slip- In Transit to home

Action items

Continue to review spreadsheet row by row, describe and assign a sub-category to each item, decide where there are overlaps with other sub-groups and/or features (reports, notices, etc.), and then start to narrow the focus.
