Meeting Notes

Welcome and Introductions

  • Welcome to Resource Access SIG Meeting at WOLFCon 2025

  • Introductions

    • Name, institution, where you are in the FOLIO journey

Develop Survey for all FOLIO libraries

At a brainstorming meeting prior to the conference, a SIG member made a suggestion that we work together to develop a survey for FOLIO implementers to gauge relative interest in development areas. We thought this would be a good topic for discussion here at WOLFCon. We’ll start by getting clear on the goals, then move on to some details about what should be included in the survey and how we should reach out to the community to get participation.

At this conference we learned that the Implementers SIG is also interested in creating a survey with the goal of developing a directory of FOLIO libraries. We’re thinking about whether or not it is feasible to partner with them if our goals align so we can minimize survey fatigue among our participating libraries.

  • Goals

    • Outreach to newer FOLIO Libraries

    • Determine how many libraries are using FOLIO apps, features, etc. to inform development prioritization

  • What to include

    • How are we going to share

    • Library information, including contacts and current SIG participation

    • Size of library/institution, number of staff, number of locations (service points?),

    • Hosting, Discovery

    • Consortium or standalone

    • What level of detail for features used (app-level or more detailed)?

      • TLR/ILR,

  • How to distribute

    • Slack

    • Circulation/Access listservs

    • Hosting vendors

    • Direct to FOLIO libraries Access staff

  • Other details?

    • Ask institutions to coordinate responses so we end up with a single response per institution

Q&A about RA SIG

Notes:

Question from Luisa about training/central collection of materials: no such collection except folio.docs, workflows are very different, generalized trainings are not always helpful, different languages

Level of detail must fill our needs

Suggest to PC to organize this and refer to SIGs for more detail

Survey could be built in a way that detailed information can be added on demand in different sections - this could too difficult for the library, because it needs to passed around between different people

There is a way to design surveys to save and pass on

From chat:

David: Maybe we could get some of our library colleagues who actually do assessment and surveys to contribute to shaping this?

And make it replicable so we could use the same survey in a year or two years, etc.

Everyone is invited to attend the November 10th (changed from the 3rd) RA SIG meeting where we will have an introduction to being part of the FOLIO Community and participating in the RA SIG.
