Users - Number generator for user barcodes

Number generators

Sunflower:

Item barcode, Accession number, Call number (Inventory, Receiving)

Trillium:

User barcode (Users)
Item barcode (Fast Add)

Demonstration on number generator functionality in FOLIO for Users and Fast Add

Preconditions for using those number generators:

Define at least one sequence in Settings > Service interaction > Number generator sequences for each number generator which will be used. Options of using prefix, suffix and check digit and defining maximum value among others.
Enable number generators in Settings > Users > Number generator options
(For Fast Add) Enable number generator Item Barcode in Settings > Inventory > Holdings, Items > Number generators options

- On, field not editable
User needs the appropriate permissions/capability sets to create and edit records in Users (or Fast Add) and in addition permissions to use the number generators (please see sunflower documentation for details Docs.folio.org Settings > Service interaction )

In create or edit mode in Users click on button “Generate user barcode” to select a sequence in the window to generate the next number of this sequence. Save the user record to store the generated number.
