Announcements and calendar review

all

  • Bugfest testing update (@Kristin Martin)

    • RMS meeting on Monday, 4/7 indicated that testing was behind schedule, with about 10% cases passed, and 11% further claimed

    • Community has been able to pick up around 1000 test cases each release cycle

    • Sunflower release will face a delay, update to the timeline should come out at the end of this week. The could impact GALILEO’s go-live

    • Call for further participation has gone out.

    • Will have a follow-up conversation regarding testing and the structural deficit of community testers vs. testing needs, as testers feel very tired

  • PC Calendar

    • When adding new events or meetings, make sure the FOLIO Product Council calendar is selected, for all to see

    • Deadlines can be added as all-day events

    • Reminder that the world can read, but only PC members have CRUD Access

    • Action items: Kristin will update her additions to be available to all FOLIO Product Council

    • Action items: Jesse will review PC members to add their emails to CRUD access.

  • Elections planning

    • Small group of individuals rotating off met earlier this week - they are reaching out to people to find interested individuals to run

    • All PC members should remind SIGs of elections to see if anyone there is interested

    • Will need to check with CC around the timing of elections and nomination form.

Eureka early adopters updates

@Jeremy Huff @Charlotte Whitt
GBV, Texas A&M, Index Data

@Kirstin Kemner-Heek updated with good news: GBV managed to set up a Platform Minimal environment in an independent non-AWS environment! That means, login to FOLIO is now possible. Next steps will be a “platform complete installation” which can be tested by GBV SME’s. Therefore we need an additional opensearch server first. After that, we start thinking about application configuration. GBV techs will document so others in non-AWS environments can reuse this work. Harry announced that additional meetings can be made available for other institutions. Reach out to @Mark Veksler to join the meetings if desired. There is a Slack channel too: folio-eureka-early-adopters, Peter Lojko, Mark V. or Kirstin can provide an invitation.

@Alexis Manheim shared that Stanford will be starting work on Eureka in a couple of weeks.

TAMU is close to running full platform minimal as well in a different non-AWS environment.

PC presentations

Combined with TC?

  • FOLIO marketplace for Apps, look at existing presentations and interested PC members should reach out to @Jenn Colt

  • Architectural Blueprint and the PC Roadmap

We would like a “Future of FOLIO/Eureka” track that runs through WOLFCon.

There are two more weeks. Next week, we need to finalize our submissions and then submit.

Product Vision

@Caitlin Stewart

  1. What can we learn from this - what works / what doesn't / what's missing?

  2. What themes do we see evolving here and what do they tell us?

  3. Vision board assignment

  4. Draft Community Priorities: Community Priorities Dashboard Development

    1. this is a list of all of the SIG priorities from across the wiki

    2. Goal to make this a top 5 list

    3. Vision from 2020: https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/COMMUNITY/pages/4231732 - could this help and still apply? - CC meeting from DC has been looking at this page to update the vision/mission at a high level

  5. Action item: PC members should review the page and provide feedback to Caitlin. Caitlin will pull out the top 5 from each SIG and share on that page. Deadline: 2 weeks, April 24

    1. Do we want all priorities, whether assigned a release or not? Or just unscheduled items?

    2. Looking at top 5s together should help us determine appropriate next steps and additional questions

    3. This initial exercise will probably not get a complete list of all SIG priorities, but we need to figure out how to move forward

    4. We can use the priorities from Jira for those SIGs that have implemented the new prioritization process. There are some SIGs, e.g., Acquisitions SIG who have done a voting mechanism in Jira on the SIGs.

    5. We need to know how SIGs are determining priorities.

This discussion identified the need for a new call for SIG liaisons to provide priorities and Caitlin will put out a new call.

  1. Should this include both schedule and unscheduled?

  2. Should we put things in the PC Jira prior to their going into the community Jira?
