Liaison updates

 

Community Council: Met on 6/22 and discussed council election status, planned for the 6/25 Tri-Council meeting, and suggested topics for the WOLFCon council shoulder meetings and Member meeting.

Tech Council: More discussion of Configuration Management RFC. Questions about scope, implications for release process and for operations. To be continued.

Community Priorities Dashboard

@Alexis Manheim

  • SIG updates of top five dev priorities

  • documentation added, trying to lighten maintenance costs

  • Want to tell concrete stories about desired improvements

    • gives context for work of POs

    • useful for funding institutions

  • WOLFcon:

    • formal time to discuss the dashboard

    • conversation about concrete stories about improvements to guide how we spend time and resources.

Comments:

  • Some hopes that the DIP process would help fill the needs of stories.

Note: PC also looking at ways to better ways to monitor releases, better ways to sync between RMS & PC. Will recommend a subgroup to work on getting PC more plugged into RMS.

Release Management Communication

  • Recent focus on release communication

    • release notes : looking for something more consumable by SMEs

    • release digest expensive to produce, does not meet many needs

  • want something lighter weight, less burden on POs & Release Manager, more PC engagement with getting information out

  • Outcomes

    • FOLIO website (folio.org) has been updated with. Maintenance will remain with EBSCO, councils & others to feed info to the team for things to be featured.

    • Drafting of new wiki home page, looking for comments.

      • Note: this is an edit link, page is not yet published!

    • Suggestion to start using blog feature as lightweight way of publishing information.
