  • Still no decision on SIG updates. Takes effort, but can produce useful conversation and reluctant to lose a check-in mechanism. Suggestion to use AI transcript and summarizing to reduce load on conveners.

Community Directed Development DIP Update

@Jeremy Huff

After WOLFcon 2025, scope of previous Community-Driven Development Framework seemed too large in scope. Have been working on a Minimally Viable Development Initiative (MV DIP) as an initial version that we can implement and refine. Intended to be light-weight, opt-in, and layered on top of existing JIRA/UXPROD process.

Primarily a documentation process, eventually should aid organizing financial support of development. DIPs will live in JIRA, includes a list of stakeholders and a link to at least one UXPROD. Also provides opportunity for councils to have input before development begins.

There is interest in seeing a test run to see how the process works.

Suggestion:

  1. Prototype the process by running a historical development through the process;

  2. Then a pilot with new development of limited scop.
