Should we extend the scope of the group beyond just PC involvement with RMS, to include RMS operations and structure more generally?
Group discussions note unfair expectations for the release manager and product owner/manager roles; de facto executive or decision-making roles have been formed in the community without a lot of intentionality, and often as a result of responsibility creep
Discussion touched on the question of what constitutes the FOLIO product? What is the core set of modules?
No one aside from RMS is discussing what modules are always included in a release
Technical core vs. functional core
Technical is easier to identify; functional can be a lot more subjective
CDDF proposes focusing on functional modules that community is committed to maintaining
Changes expected to bundling/delivery of UI modules could be a factor in how we approach the idea of the core product
Bugfest approaches are implicated too
Agreement from the group that this could be a useful investigation to pursue
Koha model of 3 managing roles (release manager, document manager, and ??) is one interesting model
Phase 1 planning
Outline the next few steps
Sunflower CSP #2 digest
Draft a brief, non-technical summary of the CSP’s updates
Incomplete action items from last meeting
Touch base with Oleksii as a first step to get work started? @Jeremy HuffCheck with CC about posting to main page of folio.org
