Welcoming new PC members

  • The meeting then moved on to rounds of introductions, where each member shared their name, institution, and what they are excited about in Folio

  • The topics mentioned during the introductions included:

    • Addressing technical debt

    • A unified search app

    • Data import

    • EResources in the Inventory app (ERM-MM Working group)

    • Community-driven development

    • Community dashboard

The meeting then moved on to introductions of rolling off PC members, who shared their experiences and what they are excited about in Folio. What do you want us to work on in the future

Next Steps for the New PC Team:

  • The meeting then moved on to discuss next steps for the new PC team.

  • The next steps included:

    • Reorganization of the wiki pages

    • Moving up the Product council topic calendar

    • Introducing the Evaluation Process for New FOLIO Functionality and related Jira boards

    • Keeping track of FOLIO functionalities

    • Finding new liaisons for some rolling off PC members

    • Informing the liaisons

    • Reporting by on the release management Stakeholders group

    • Community Priorities Dashboard Development

      • Bringing the community Top 5s to the PC

Action Items (please revise):

  • Identify new SIG liaisons and volunteers

  • Update the release management stakeholders group membership

  • Review and update the community priority dashboard

  • Revisit the vision statement and work on a vision framework

  • Suspend Tuesday meetings for the month of August

  • Use the last 10 minutes of each meeting to review the agenda for the next meeting

  • Update the Confluence space to organize documents and resources

  • Work on a Jira board to track and prioritize development efforts

  • Liaise with SIGs and maintain SIG reports

  • Work on a release management stakeholders group to support decision-making and information about folio releases and critical service patches.

Next Steps:

  • The council will meet next week with an agenda TBD.

  • Alexis will be running the meeting while Caitlin is out of town.

  • The council will continue to work on prioritization and community development initiatives.

  • The council will revisit the vision statement and work on a vision framework.
