Data Import SIG

@Jennifer Eustis @Christie Thomas

Jennifer Eustis and Christie Thomas are both long term members of the Data Import working group, which have been under the wings of the Metadata Management SIG. The work on the top 5 priorities evolved to re-thinking if Data Import still should be a working group, and where it fitted best. The conclusion was that Data Import should be a SIG, also to offer more opportunities to work with other SIGs. Data Import is more than just bibliographical data. Christie Thomas is the lead convener, and Jennifer Eustis is the assistant convener. The Data Import asks for the PC’s approval of being a SIG. Everyone liked this proposal. The Data Import SIG will begin it’s SIG reporting starting as of June. Jennifer Eustis is appointed to be the PC liaisons to the Data Import SIG.

Community Priorities

@Caitlin Stewart

Caitlyn presented Community Priorities Dashboard Development

The matrix holds the list of top 5 priorities on UXPROD features, and also a couple of bugs prioritised by the SIGs.

The process for the PC’s priority will we visited as a two-tiered list. PC members are asked to rate each feature following the list of ranking:

  • Impact

  • Competitiveness

  • Usability

  • Vision alignment

The question is if this ranking effort to be done asynchronous, or one of the upcoming PC meetings is reserved for this work. Caitlyn suggest to use a google sheet to capture the ranking by each member. These priorities should lead to next steps, and eventually feed into the planning of flower releases. Harry Kaplanian found this planning tool very useful. The review process was suggested to be once a year. Caitlyn has started a tagging structure for the listed features and bugs. These tags can be used in a Priority Dash board. There was a discussion if the development work on Metadb as a third party tool should be included in FOLIO Jira. The mod-reporting development is tracked with FOLIO Jira UXPROD features.

Kristin Martin asked How do we capture functionality not represented in the SIG priorities.

Single line ranking based on the following proposed rubric:

  • Business criticality

  • Impact

  • Competitiveness

  • Usability

  • Vision alignment
