Product Council Update

  • Anton updated the PC about the Goldenrod release: 91% test cases passed bugfest ; more testers involved ; more test cases ; over 80% of testing done by community ; some unresolved cases. 29 issues will be addressed in upcoming hotfix. 

  • Cate updated the group - introduced a new PO for "INN-reach integration" - 

  • Documentation site was demoed by Marcia

  • Proposals are being submitted concerning Folio for the Charleston conference. See minutes for other conferences and submission deadlines.

OCLC direct import

  • Epic - UXPROD-211

  • Work will begin in August - to be completed in October, ready for Q4

  • Mike will be the PO

  • UXPROD-976 is the feature being worked on. Mike will clean this up, but follow this Jira for updates

  • Scope: Creating Instance

  • Questions and concerns about overlay options. Protected fields available in Honeysuckle. Desire for customizable import profile was expressed.

  • "What about pushing records from Connexion into FOLIO with TCP/IP gateway?" - 

  • "Anything that works for Connexion also needs to work for SkyRiver. I think SkyRiver mostly mimics Connexion, so that should be easy, but it should be checked." "About 10% of our consortium members are on SkyRiver." Charlotte: "We could add a new feature for implementation SkyRiver"

+1 Charlotte; this may be difficult to prioritize based on implementing institutions’ votes (as often happens) but if there is an argument for extending FOLIO market share, perhaps Product Counsel could weigh in on the importance of SkyRiver connection

  • "@lloyd, this work is explicitly for OCLC (and funded by a few of the institutions rather than being FOLIO-funded). Mike would need to comment on whether IndexData wants to contribute additional effort toward SkyRiver" Mike answered, that was looked at by institutions, but pull from Folio was prioritized for now. 

  • Mike- probably not that different than OCLC, but out of scope at this point.

  • "We encounter issues with duplicates in the 5C when we push from OCLC. On a single tenant, this will be an even larger issue"

  • "The way we can current push a single record from OCLC is super fast. You hit 1 button in OCLC record and it's done."

  • "All of our original catalogers use Connexion, not the ILS, to create/import new records.  Not just Acq."
