Inventory & MARC authority Version history

• This is joint effort for Folijet and Spitfire.

• New pane tracking changes made to Inventory and MARC Authority records (not MARC holdings)

• Ability to drill down into values that have changed

• Retention period can be set and ability to enable/disable feature

• FOLIO Version History Card: Date/time of change, source of change, Instance fields changed + action

• MARC Bib Version History Card: Date/time of change, source of change, MARC bib tags changed + action

• Live demo of both Inventory and MARC View version history

• Can view changes, but cannot roll back to previous version of MARC record

• Also show for FOLIO holdings and items

Questions

• Charlotte: Is it possible to suppress the source of change? A: No. The feature will need to be entirely disabled.

• Jennifer: If you change one of the instance administrative fields that aren't present in the source record will that only show in the preview of the instance when looking at history? A: That is correct. If the field is not mapped, it will not show in the version history.

• Jennifer: What is the next iteration of this? Are you thinking about how to configure this in Settings and extract the data? A: There is an API to extract version history. Currently, in progress, UI updates and refining hyperlink requirements for ECS.

• Jennifer: How does the version history look if you have system, API, or batch changes? A: It will not show the app or process that triggered the change.

• Felix: Is the history noticeable impacting performance when loading records? A: Not witnessed performance issues. You can configure how many cards to display per page in Settings app.

• Magda: Is there maximum number of changes to be recorded? A: No maximum

Search improvements in scope of Trillium

Questions

• Jennifer: When you select barcode from the drop-down, the item records pops up, but not in the keyword search. Is that expected behavior? A: That is something that needs to be fixed.

• Felix: Are the double quotes still available to perform a phrase search? A: Yes

2025-06-04 Data Import Subgroup Meeting Notes

The link to the new Data Import SIG space: Data Import Special Interest Group

All of the documentation has been moved from Metadata Management, but there is a placeholder where Data Import used to be to direct people to the new space.

We’re preparing for our meeting on June 11 with the Acquisitions SIG to begin our discussion on how to proceed with our collaboration going forward. Primarily collaboration topics are creating orders from MARC orders and EDIFACT invoices.

We discussed how to prioritize issues. There are several ways we get issues, such as Slack, meetings, lab sessions and the implementers topic spreadsheet. There is a lack of clarity to this. We want to find a better pathway for this.

Our first step will be to create new labels for Jira issues: what hasn’t been reviewed/what has been reviewed.
