17 participants. The results have been added to the https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/x/RgB-Nw from the PC. Results have also been posted in Slack.

Lynne: The top five may need additional information so development can move forward. This can be worked on today or future meetings.

Felix: Regarding the “Ability to maintain relationships with other apps when holdings/items are removed”, wondering whether this should be made an NFR because having a system without corrupt data and with correct relationships even after go live is fundamental. Some of these issues have already been fixed in the Ramsons release, such as moving a holdings to an instance in the Inventory app will also move POL link. However, it is not working for other apps, such as Requests.

Lynne agreed it should be an NFR.

Charlotte mentioned that this was previous listed as a bug, but it was changed to a story.

Felix will contact the PO, and this issue will be listed as an NFR with a story.

Announcements: Documentation Working Group will have a new interim convener Ludwig Liebl.

FOLIO members meeting on 6/5/2025 at 10 am EST. The PC will reschedule it’s meeting. There were two presentations:

Better Sample Data working group update - link to slide deck. Status on the work: Improvement of data in FOLIO Snapshot environments and Data Anonymization.

A year ago a PC working group was formed to improve the sample data in bugfest and FOLIO snapshot environments. Working group was represented by Shelly from Stanford and Charlotte. Shelly is leading the data anonymization implementation work for bugfest environments. The PC has approached three institutions about adding their anonymized data. Data anonymization is thorough including policies, such as locations and personal information in MARC data.

Charlotte is involved in the FOLIO snapshot environment. There are working on improving data in the Inventory, Data Import, and the ERM-related apps. This effort is to make sure bugs are caught early. Bugs found early are much cheaper to fix than when they are found in bugfest tests or after a flower release, which requires a critical service patch.

Open Access Publication Management App - Leipzig University worked with K-int to develop the OA App. First release was with Nolana & Orchid (2023). Wiki page. OA app is not part of the current flower release. The latest release of OA is 3.2.0 (03/2025). Leipzig and SLUB Dresden will in 2025-2028 work on functional enhancements of OA via external tender. With new funding, will work towards to get the OA App approved by the TC to be included in Flower releases. Link to slide deck.

Data Import Working Group

We are working on a joint meeting with the Acquisition SIG on MARC orders. We want to address the logic of how we’d like to see this behave.

We discussed the following issues:

  • https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/UXPROD-4440. Many institutions work in Connexion and in particular with their local save files. Then SME’s export the records that are pushed to their systems. We would like to see this in FOLIO where you can select things in your local save files to be pushed to FOLIO. This is a one click workflow that users are used to working with cataloging. This is both for create and update records.

In addition to this, we need to be able to select the FOLIO job profile that is used. We would like to be able to specify the FOLIO job profile using a 9XX field, for instance 943 \\$aFOLIO DVD job profile. For example, if you bring in a record for a DVD, you select your FOLIO DVD job profile because you want a holdings records with your DVD location and an item record that has a material type of DVD for instance.

  • UXPROD-5293: Enhancements to Data Import Logs & ReportingOpen We’d like to see this broken into 2 epics, one for logs and another for reporting. Then we can prioritize the individual issues and consider what needs to be done in phases.

  • folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/MODSOURMAN-1013 How can we do this with file splitting? On update, it might be possible to use the 001. However, on create, more needs to be taken into account. For example, parts will have the same base title but have different parts. Some institutions import the same title for different libraries; these will have 2 different 001s but the same title and other bib data. Read through current functionality with MODSOURCE-530: Duplicate records in incoming file causes problems after overlay process with no error reportedClosed and then working group will come back to this.
