Notes
Time | Topic | Notes |
|---|---|---|
5m | Housekeeping | WOLFcon working group session submitted. Deadline extended, any other ideas? |
5m | Overview of Reporting Options (Tara) |
|
10m | Panorama (Corrie Chuck from Biola Univ) | EBSCO product. They have full Panorama license: FOLIO data, EDS stats and EBSCO usage consolidation, plus 4 additional sources of data. Explorer (to create dashboards) and View licenses available. They have legacy ILS data in theirs (mostly total circulations for items) |
10m | Lists App (Peter from Cornell) | Ramsons will have more available. Lots of the bulk edit features should start being available in Lists. Once generated, the info all stays in the list, click on the display and it will all display. Then you can refresh, but not automatically. User info hanging around is a privacy issue as well. Chuck adds that there will be compartmentalized view based on FOLIO permissions in upcoming version. Lists looks at whole history of the item? Shows up on long missing if it was ever long missing? (will watch recording and update this) The Reporting SIG meeting on April 28 had Kathleen Moore presenting on the Lists app and future developments. The recording is at https://recordings.openlibraryfoundation.org/folio/reporting-sig/2025-04-28T10:55/ . That was the only agenda item that day and the recording is about 40 minutes long. |
20m | Metadb and Reporting app (Sharon from Cornell, Scott from Chicago) |
Metadb good cuz you’re not hitting live FOLIO db. Streams data just a few seconds/minutes after FOLIO is updated. Breaks up json blobs into columns so can query directly. Can do queries across applications, just join tables. DBeaver often used to do queries (SQL). Cornell has loaded legacy ILS data in a Metadb schema. Can combine queries looking at FOLIO tables and Voyager tables to get a combined eg circ count. Can create Tableau dashboards as well with these queries. Reporting App hooks up to your Metadb. In the App can create queries, or run reports. Can hook this up to a repository of queries to choose from. Can not allow some tables to be queried (user privacy, fund privacy etc) |
5m | PC Update by @Charlotte Whitt |
