How to navigate Jira (Tara)

Best practices for submitting support requests (Anya)

• Anya walked through the process of submitting a support ticket in JIRA, including which fields are most important

• Anya demonstrated the Support SIG dashboard and explained how issues are tracked.

• Please consider joining the Support SIG meetings! These are held Mondays at 7am Pacific/10am Eastern

How to submit a feature (Tom)

• Tom outlined how to submit a feature in Jira.

• Tom suggested drafting feature requests in a word processor first before entering into JIRA. He outlined the components of a good feature request.

• It is very important to write detailed descriptions, because developers may not understand library workflows

• Tom recommends contacting the relevant PO after creating a feature request

Community Priorities DashboardPreview

• the SIG liaisons will reach out to their SIGs re: the PC’s request to their the SIGs top 5 priorities for new work for the Umbrellaleaf release (R1 2026)

• not all SIGs can provide feedback within a month

• timeline: asap for the prototype - not every SIGs needs to be on

The Privacy SIG will be revived, and Jenn Colt is interested in doing it. It is unclear whether it will be a full SIG or a support group.  If you are interested, reach out to Jenn Colt via Slack.
