  • Reading Room functionality - “lending” materials for “use at location” - Trillium

    • maybe ready for Dec session

    • they will also present at RA SIG

  • RFID and FOLIO

    • BVB has created their own solution with RFID/FOLIO because what was available didn’t meet their needs. They’d like to come and present their work to us and gauge interest in more native RFID functionality in FOLIO.

    • Decided to invite them to Nov 4 meeting if they are available

• How was WOLFcon?

  • Top 3 takeaways or top 3 questions

    • LoC toolkit - Chrome extension with many Macros e.g. click one button and it would add a holding with pre-defined values. Was context aware. Session was Thursday 1:10pm Extending FOLIO: LOC tools and customizations.

    • Lehigh Inventory tool

      • maybe invite them in 2026 to show us

    • Eureka permissions session - session led me to start a permissions audit

      • Eureka labs had been going for awhile, to mess around with all this. Announcement for these is in folio-general slack channel

        • could add the 11am ET every other Tuesday (Implementers time slot) to work on permissions (Wed 10am ET didn’t work for all)

      • If flatten permissions (not nested) now, migration to Eureka/roles will be smoother.

    • lots of institutions writing similar workaround/API tools for weeding. Should natively be available; can we get a working group together to get something built?

    • lots of sessions about reporting. There’s a lot of need. How to get it accessible for everyone?

      • Reporting App improved now (but need Metadb)

      • Reporting can be reporting as analytics, and reporting as list-making for day-to-day functionality. Both of these are needed.

      • if don’t have Metadb, you have Lists, circ log, in-app reports, Panorama. Doing annual reports very hard.

      • Baseline reporting should be available to all. Total Check-out by Service point, Check-in, maybe breakdown of requests filled, canceled etc. All without a secondary system like LDP, Pananorma or MetaDB.

      • Jennifer Eustis with the Reporting SIG was at Cross App SIG talking about getting a baseline export from each app.  Not every app even has an export at this point.

      • Dashboard app might be a good place to put some of this. Right now works just with ERM, but Owen Stephens was talking about needing to make it a more generic solution so other types of reports can be made (two years ago). Charlotte can talk with him.

      • Not just a Reporting SIG issue. Needs cross a lot of apps.

      • Lists app in Sunflower will be much improved also. Expansion here might satisfy a lot of needs, since hits FOLIO db directly, don’t need outside db.

      • We could make a resource page on reporting. Here’s what is there and how it can be useful. What already exists in this area? Tara will ask.
