Development update

• We are in Sprint 217.

• Bienenvolk has a new member: Matt from K-Int has just joined the team. He is working on his first issue that is about the options to delete package content from the local KB. This will be part of Trillium and works alongside the other changes that are currently worked on. He has written the code to mark content that has to be deleted from the system. To perform the actual delete, the data structure and related entities have to be updated accordingly, e.g. if the PCI shall be deleted, the system has to check if it is the last PTI and if it is the last titleInstance and if it is the last workInstance or not and perform the neccessary actions/deletes (or not). The devs have found ~800 different data states and need to decide how to automate testing.

• Integrating GOKB search into the Agreements app: Dev work has not started until now. Jack is creating documentation and after that has been completed, the dev work can start. It will be distributed among the team.

• Other work includes security fixes and documentation.

• Bugfest: All but one issues have been resolved. The release of ERM Comparisons is expected by the end of the week. 2 issues could not be identified, but they are not reliably reproducible.

Integrating external KB / GOKB search into FOLIO

We are discussing the Title view and synchronisation questions

• Regardless of what is added to the basket, it is always the package that is synced from GOKB into FOLIO.

• Permissions for synchronizing: UI-Agreements Packages ControlSync is needed in order to control the sync.

• Local KB search and Remote KB search:

  • Do people feel that there are reasons for having both of those search options?

  • Combining both search options in one and have a filter to narrow down to “is in local KB == yes/no” is not an option. When searching the remote KB, the search is sent to an external service like GOKB, compared to the search of the FOLIO database.

• Quote from the Google doc: “I assume something has to exist for the title to show in the result list and the search index.” Owen clarifies that the data is not existing in FOLIO until the package has been synchronized.

• Owen will take our feedback that we are in favor with option 3 back to the developers and check if a seamless workflow is a possible option. If not, he will bring the topic back to the sub group and talk about the options that we have, including improvements to the basket.
