ERM sample data

@Kristin Martin

The Better Sample Data Working Group (tasked by the PC) is trying to provide a more robust set of reference data for FOLIO snapshot, to allow for better testing. The ERM SIG is asked to come up with some sample records for ERM.

  • better sample data, not a lot of data, but some data

  • there are e.g. 44 records in Inventory, but not so much data in orders and agreements, licenses (no standard data for ERM)

  • orgnanisations has mostly vendors, though other types might be needed

  • Additionally, there are plans to make bugfest easier by adding better data to bugfest environment, but the groups wants to start with Snapshot

  • Chicago will provide via data import

  • gets scripted then

  • Owen uses scripts to create “fake” agreements as well

  • group would like to learn about what kind of sample data would be helpful

  • plan: an automated script will do the import job

  • github repository, pull from there

    • by that, additional records can be added easily

There is a wiki page to collect needs as well as questions: ERM Sample Data (Please see further notes, listed sample data and questions there)

Agenda: 2025-04-30 ERM SIG meeting

14:14:45 Von Margaret Youngberg an Alle:
Did PC give us a timeframe for priorities? Because I could see that as helping with right-sizing what we put on the list

14:28:28 Von Jessica Harris an Alle:
It would be helpful to also have agreement lines that don't use eholdings or GoKB

14:33:47 Von Margaret Youngberg an Alle:
That makes a lot of sense

14:35:07 Von Margaret Youngberg an Alle:
Ours also does not understand library data

14:35:38 Von Felix Hemme an Alle:
I did join late and might have missed it. Have you talked about having a few packages with the sync status = sync on folio-snapshot as sample data? Right now it is hard to work with local KB data, because a user first has to sync a package before title data is available.
Heiko Schorde:👍

14:37:02 Von Martina Schildt an Alle:
Thanks Felix, we will pick this up in a sec.

14:40:12 Von Erin Wentz an Alle:
Do you know when snapshot is reset? (What time and time zone?)

14:41:53 Von Kristin Martin an Alle:
I will need to ask - I don't know

14:44:13 Von Jessica Harris an Alle:
That would be helpful.

14:48:33 Von Felix Hemme an Alle:
I'll take a look

14:48:50 Von Felix Hemme an Alle:
>The server is built every day, to finish about 02:03 UTC.
(See Jenkins job: folio-snapshot which starts about 01:24 UTC.).

Thanks!

folio-snapshot-2 is 12 hours behind and ends about 14:00 UTC
