Agenda items

  1. Development progress - ERM sprint 158
  2. Implementers topics https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/display/ERMSIG//ERM+implementers

Minutes

  • Development progress - ERM sprint 158
    • ERM sprint 158 last sprint for Orchid

    • new persistent ID in GOKb  – doing work to migrating from using older ID to the new ID

      • Felix (chat): Will this resolve the issue that when a package name changes in GOKb, a new package is created in Folio?

      • Yes, it will – reference changes when package name changes

    • Adding types of Agreements – a lot to consider, but the ability to add content types to Agreements seemed easy to consider

      • One or more content types can be added to an Agreement and you can define the list of types (SubscriptionAgreement.ContentType), will populate some defaults – defaults (Audio, Books, Database, Journals, Video) are added but you can delete and add your own

      • While implementing this a bug was identified in stripes software, once this is resolved by the stripes developers than content types can be displayed in the agreement screen

      • Content types can be filtered as well

    • Being asked by implementers to support a view only permissions for settings in Agreements and Licenses e.g. supplementary properties

      • Right now there is a general permission to view and edit the settings in Agreements and Licenses

      • Adding the permissions did not take long, but additional screens needs to be developed for the view only version of those screens

      • Right now if you have the view only permission you can still edit, but you cannot save the changes and an error is displayed – prefer the screens not to be editable in the first place - needs more work - maybe Orchid/Poppy

  • Implementers topics https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/display/ERMSIG//ERM+implementers
    • Dashboard: Filter on agreements alternative names
      • New agreement widget – than you can do a search by name or alternative name or description

      • Filters (e.g. does not contain or exact matches) vs. Search (text search)

      • Adding a filter based on the alternative name
      • Are there other use cases for filtering or searching? Supplementary property

      • Felix: in an ideal world all filters in Agreements can be selected in the widget as well including supplementary property

      • Felix: Licenses terms to the license widget definition is more important than supplementary properties

      • Owen will write up Jira tickets to add “Alternative title” and “Description” to available filters and investigate adding supplementary properties to the filters / license terms to the license widget

    • Ability to intentionally disconnect link between e-resource from external KB and e-resource in local KB or block fields from being updated
      • Scenario: resource in the local KB that is tracking an external resource particular GOKb as that package is updated in GOKb those updates are automatically applied to the copy in local KB – sometimes you can want those to be diverse

      • Asked for prevent some fields to be updated or not updated at all

      • Felix: use case - package title removal  / Access end date in GOKb to make that field editable – you can overwrite, but than you need a notification method
      • Removing those IDs from the package in the local KB, so it won’t be updated due to no ID - new package would be created from the external resource

      • action to separate from external source or do local copy

      • Field level is more challenging – break connection – you might want to get some updates - than cutting it of completely – tracking those stuff is not easy

      • Owen will write up a story to allow for a local copy of a remote KB package for discussion with users whether it is a useful functionality

    • Support e-resource search on ISBN regardless of presence of hypens in the query and the data
      • At the moment – searching in local KB search – you need to search with hyphen (or without hyphen) to get the exact match if the ISBN is entered with or without a hyphen.

      • Felix: users should not worry about hyphens when searching

      • Kristin (chat): What's the behavior in Inventory?

      • Felix (chat): In Inventory it does not matter what the user enters.

      • Storing ISBN without hyphen and users need to search without hyphens

      • But ISBN is included in search fields containing other fields as well - challenges is there is no one behavior for different fields

      • Owen will write up a story to store ISBNs in consistent way and to support searching with or withot hyphens and will look at the solution in Inventory
    • Allow license term note without a set term value
      • Value to be delivered to 3rd party system – 3 related terms and you want a value for one and a note for the other – not possible right now - want to put in a note and I have to put in a value

      • Felix: use case: 3 ILL related terms – 1. Is ILL allowed or not 2. Deliver in electronic or print way 3. domestic only or internationally / If the first one is not allowed than the other two are than not necessary and no content needs to be entered  - Due to the 3 rd party system we cannot add other terms/value

      • Described here – hierarchical relationship (terms and subterms)
      • This topic will be discussed in a future ERM SIG meeting
    • Please add your topics to the implementers’ page https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/display/ERMSIG//ERM+implementers
