5/29 10EST Product Council meeting to discuss becoming a SIG. Everyone is welcome to join.
Autumn: Data Import documentation for Sunflower release is up on Docs. Alissa from the documentation team will be joining a future meeting soon.
Jennifer reached out to the Acquisitions SIG about a joint meeting. Maybe several of our team can go to one of their meetings afterwards.

Order import demonstration and discussion update

Jennifer

Based on the poll in Acq SIG Slack, it looks like members will be joining us on June 11th to work on acquisition DI work - focus on MARC Orders first.

In order to have a productive meeting Christie suggests sending out a poll about what work needs to be done, what parts of DI aren’t working for orders. That way we would be more productive.

Are you using? why not? what are the biggest pain points? what are the blockers keeping you from using?
Autumn: Better Data Group is looking for examples of job profiles. Can we ask that in a poll - what type of test data/profiles to you need?
Christie: How do we use DI for order? There are so many ways and not a lot of documentation on the different pathways. Maybe the first meeting is an environmental scan and setting goals.
Jenn: Most of the documentation we have has not been updated.
Christie: nothing is changing in the profiles for orders in DI even though lots of changes are happening in the orders app. Its about how the orders app changes the business logic and how it impact DI.

Jennifer: Create a survey to get a better understanding of who is using, who wants to, what the issues are for users and what is stopping others from using DI for MARC orders. Understanding expectations.

Once we understand issues we can discuss priorities in the joint meeting.

Christie suggests we put together some goals for the upcoming meeting with the acquisitions SIG.

Christie will reach out to Peter Murphy to get her and Jennifer full access to the OLF DI drive. Christie will create survey, share with the group for feedback before sharing widely.

The survey should be shared on slack in DI, MM, Implementors, and Acquisitions.

Further discussion in preparation for the meeting can be discussed on 6/4 - do not want to do too much since we want to make sure that this is collaboration with the acq SIG.

Jennifer

Disallow usage of Update MARC Bib next to Update Instance actions - older ticket. Goes against later requests
Christie: Did this come from the DI SIG? This was opened by the development team. This is functionality that the users don’t want.

Will discuss these tickets more in depth in the next meeting to make sure the developers are going in the direction we want

Support batch import for multiple holdings and items

Jennifer

Do we still want to explore being able to do this via the csv approach rather than a mrc file?
Christie: do we want to add a process? this may solve one problem but not really a solution for the big issue. Doesn’t take in the whole scope. What is the use case that this solves and are there others that it doesn’t.
Jennifer: We are playing catch up. The tickets were created and never discussed. Do we really need this?

There are release dates. We need to discuss as it is being developed and will be done if we don’t discuss them.
