Participation and Development Guide
This general guide is meant to help navigate how to engage in the development process for Data Import. There are several pathways for engagement. The community can submit a new idea for functionality, file a bug that was found in their environment, or ask about the status of an issue. If you are asking these questions, we have a process for that!

Process for Prioritizing Discussions for the SIG Meetings
We will try to balance SIG discussions for new topics and Jira issues that need to be reviewed by the SIG. The SIG sees that bugs should have a higher priority. However, there are times when the SIG will decide to bump another idea (either a new idea or a Jira issue that may be an EPIC, new feature, or bug) instead.
The SIG’s meeting notes will use a template with space for a new topic and a Jira issue that needs reviewed. The selection of that topic and issue will be the one that has been there the longest. This will only be overridden when there is a higher priority topic that needs the SIG’s attention.
For a flower release, the agenda will focus also on the roadmap. The discussion will revolve around if the release notes and closed issues have met our high level roadmap and what needs to be done as a result.

Data Import List of Issues in Jira that need Review and to be Scheduled: This dashboard was created using the following filter (labels = data-import-sig-needs-review and release = Not scheduled). These issues have yet to be assigned a priority and to be added to a tentative release schedule and sprint.
Data Import List of Issues in Jira that need review: This dashboard was created using the filter where any issue that has the label “data-import-sig-needs-review”. All new issues that need to be discussed by the SIG should have at least this label. This label will remain until the SIG decides that discussion has concluded and then the issue gets the label “data-import-sig-reviewed”
Data Import List of Issues in Jira that have been reviewed: This dashboard was created using the filter where any issue that has the label “data-import-sig-reviewed”. All new issues that have been discussed by the SIG should have at least this label. This label will not be removed.
Data Import SIG View All Issues: This dashboard was created from the following filter (labels IN (DataImport, data-import, data-import-bug, data-import-script, data-import-uat, data-import-sig-needs-review) AND statusCategory IN ("To Do", "In Progress") AND status NOT IN (Closed, "Awaiting deployment", "Awaiting release", Cancelled)). It displays the Votes, Summary, Description, Affected releases, Release, CSP Approved.
Data Import FOLIO Road Map: This dashboard follows the structure of other FOLIO Road Map dashboards and was created by the FOLIO Roadmap group. It lists issues by release as well as projects for each release.

Community Priorities for Product Council. In 2024-2025, the Product Council asked SIGs to prepare up to 5 priorities to present at Product Council. This page lists those priorities by year.
