Calming Week & US July 4th

Just a reminder that next week is calming week and we are also off July 1st. Our next meeting will be July 8.

Updates

May 20, 2026: Updates on new functionality and bugs:

Update instance, holdings, and item in reverse order (Line 6 in New Topics spreadsheet.)

https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/MODDATAIMP-1290 / https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/MODINVSTOR-1363

@Ryan Taylor Updates and documentation in particular for 1363 how redundancy works and any documentation)

Update on 1290: The decision is to keep optimization but put it behind a feature flag and have it off as a default. With this off, the records will update. You can always turn this back on. Documentation is coming. https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/MODINVSTOR-1577

Housekeeping

Asynchronous Trial last week. Should it be 100% asynchronous or a mix of asynchronous and whoever wants to join the meeting at the normal time? We were 3 last week and it went well. We had one major question which we posted to the group. I’m not sure who else viewed the match examples or tested though.

We reviewed the match examples. We need to find consensus on how to define alphanumeric which will inform a couple of our match examples. Then we need to continue testing these match examples to see if our current functionality works as we expect from our match examples. The match examples spreadsheet has a new column Tested and a link to the testing spreadsheet. The hope is to fine tune this as current behavior so that it works consistently and then use the match examples as documentation.

Proposal: Depending on our asynchronous trial, we return to this on July 15th.

There was a lot of confusion. What does it mean to work asynchronously?

  • Post more summaries on slack so that people can contribute to testing

  • Create a survey to gather information on what is a good time to meet, what to call the lab, etc?

  •

Create a survey (Christine, Lynne, Yael)
Encourage more asynchronous ways to contribute
