Summary | Initial new topic summary: When marking an instance for deletion we should be able to also delete all holdings and items attached to the instance or delete holdings and items targeted by identifier. The SIG discussed this and felt that there are multiple avenues for deletion that are underway (bulk edit, data import, API). Right now, there are no guardrails to warn users when these records that we want deleted are connected to other FOLIO records such as circulation, finance, etc. The SIG also brought up implications for discovery. How does discovery deal with deleted records? Is there a need for tombstones? The SIG proposes to bring this topic to Cross App SIG for further discussion. |
