Pre-Conference sessions

Wolfcon 2026 - Prague, August 31-September 3, 2026. Call for proposals will go out next week.

CT - worried about proposing a pre-conference session that is not hybrid. Is there something we should propose as a group even if its not the best venue being only in person. 

AF - can we propose a workshop? Has one been done before. 
JE - we had a working session of 90 minutes. Road map and experiences. 
AF - DI preconference, can we offer a not hybrid but recorded. 
JE - No, OLF is not allowing this
CT - We might want to put together a recorded series with curriculum of the basics. 
JE - Great idea, we should see more than just the basics but things related like APIs and how DI interacts with other apps. We could look into adding this to our road map and community priorities.

RT - Will be sending out a call for UAT testing of the new item re-ordering in Inventory.

Log Messages Enhancements

Lots of frustration around logs. This is an epic with many linked work items. 

CT - this got added to the agenda as a partner to previous topic. Not sure why. 

RT - there are two tickets, I need to check if we need both tickets about error messages. 799 is being worked on for future release. 

Regarding the epic. Initially when we talked about enhancement to the logs we had many ideas and I wanted to capture everything under an epic so we could work through them. The plan is to break out to smaller user stories and work on them in different features that the developers can work on. 

JE - We have a log of the different error messages. 

In addition to the log messages the epic also discusses reporting

RT - There was thought that the reporting should be separate. Might fall under different apps. Will give it some more thought.

RT - the feature and user stories will get linked under the epic. As they become organized will update in slack  and in upcoming meetings so we can discuss together to set priorities, etc. 

New Requested Topic

Delete holdings and items in batch via data import. (Line 8 of spreadsheet)

JE - being worked on in bulk edit as well. currently not possible, with in DI or BE. You can mark the instance for deletion and suppress the holdings and items. Can be done with a single item, but not in batch. This is a request for functionality. 

LF -Do we want multiple avenues of deletion, both BE and DI?

VG - yes. We don’t load subscription information since we can’t then delete. If we had this functionality we could. 

LF - what about dependencies from other apps with deletions? That is our concern with hard delete, especially with acquisitions information. 

JE - is there a phase 3 planned for ‘marked for deletion’?

RT - it has not been scheduled yet but is definitely up for consideration. There has been conversation about what happens with all the connections.

VG - we are happy with being able to mark for deletion in DI and then delete in BE

JE - EDS and/or locate still needs the record in order for it to be removed. 

VG - a failsafe should be baked into the process so that the functionality does not allow for deletion if there are dependencies. 

KR - if you delete holding and items from an instance and they were the only ones, will there be a functionality to check if you want to delete the instance? 

VG - is this even on the road map? 

LF - maybe we need to bring in the discovery SIG to understand how this impacts the discovery layer. 

JE - This can also have repercussions for finance, lost and paid for example. We may need to have many discussions with many groups. 

KR - What about POLs and reporting?

VG - maybe we need to bring in the cross app SIG

RP - For me having the option to remove the deleted objects from appearing in reports like metadb would be helpful. Having them exist somewhere but they don’t show up unless asked for. 

JE - many different aspects with deleting items and holding and bringing it to cross-app is a great idea. Because it hits so many areas, maybe it should be presented to the product council so they understand how we get a holistic approach. Will reach out to other SIGS and go from there. 

LF - maybe this should be a WOLFcon session

Updating items before the holdings and instance in a single job.

Next session we will continue to testing for Same action multiple times and same match multiple times
