Unpacking Dennis' presentation

Anyone

• First thoughts?

  • Looks to address user records and management of shared settings, but doesn't look it addresses shared acquisitions?

    • Though it allows the manager to switch tenants easily and perhaps address them in that context?

    • Would still like to see SSO addressed; how to manage SSO centrally

    • Good foundation, but it doesn't address all issues collected in the survey (+2)

  • Looks to be more beneficial to a larger consortium with more shared procedures

    • Missing cross-tenant lending/borrowing (+2)

    • But recognition that this work has to start somewhere 

  • Good approach for a shared admin tool; good base for further development

• Does Dennis & Team already have further developments in mind?

• Opens options for how libraries interact in a shared tenant, multi-tenant, clusters, etc.

• Are there plans to include management of authorities?

Timeline for app

• Anticipated to be in use by time MOBIUS go-lives in summer 2024

• Hoping for a quick rollout

• Action: ask Dennis

Impact on SIG member projects

• FLO: Simplified FLO's options; doesn't expect a native borrowing/lending app within their timeline

• Don't need shared cataloging or cross-tenant borrowing/lending, but the cross-tenant administration is important for Berndt

  • Front end support?  

  • How could this be expanded to support cross-tenant borrowing/lending?

• GBV would be interested in cross-tenant borrowing/lending, the administration of this app is beneficial

  • Doesn't meet all needs, but is a good start in this direction

• Action: can we look at our use cases/stories to be sure that when it's time to move forward with cross-tenant borrowing/lending that we are ready.

• Open door to Dennis or team to come back and discuss app/development?

• Invite Dennis to a future meeting for further discussion

• 'Consortium' Settings available in folio snapshot, but not app

• How to support testing when the test database needs to be different than the current snapshot?
