45min | Continue discussion from last week...- Configuration:
- Circ rules – If shared, do libraries still get the option to create their own in addition to the shared rules? What about opening hours? Does this apply to patron groupings as well?
- Fund structures
- SSO
- Anything else?
- ILL – UXPROD-795
- Reshare, since many libraries use library patron (dummy) record borrowing today, this implies Reshare focuses on moving physical materials within a group of libraries. What is the scope of this. Collecting and prepping the items for shipment? Wondering because FOLIO could handle dummy record borrowing today.
- Non group borrowing or vendor hosted ILL borrowing (OCLC, etc) – What integrations and features are required? What do those workflows look like?
- How does a student pick up an item from any library they choose? What is the process? Review the GBV use case of town patrons borrowing from any library they choose. What data moves between the libraries if any? How is this configured?
| All | Circ rules - PALNI - two rules: one for general circulation, one for media; libraries can setup rules for other materials outside of that (doesn't seem to cause any issues)
- work with libraries to set up rules correctly; can't be imposed by system so requires person-to-person interaction
- would be nice to be able to push rules out to tenants
- Elena (FLO)
- some agreed upon rules; others are set up independently
- is the ability to copy rules between tenants enough? maybe for setting up a library but possibly not for changes to rules down the line
Fund structures - are common fund structures needed in multi-tenant environments?
- useful for reporting (both reports built for individual libraries and those aggregated at the consortium level)
- GBV: common format for fund names: budget_code (e.g. subject, project) + costtype_code (e.g. material type like printed book, database, e-journal) + fiscal year
- fund structure hierarchy needs to allow many levels for flexibility
- the ability to share/copy templates would be helpful
SSO - any consortia that share a common IdP
GBV walk-in/town patrons - data is imported from another tenant - includes UID, name, etc. (i.e. key elements needed to borrow item)
