Jeremy Huff

Texas A&M

My name is Jeremy Huff, and I would like to nominate myself for the FOLIO Community Council.

I am the Core Systems Librarian at Texas A&M, where I am responsible for our self-hosted instance of FOLIO.

I have been involved with the FOLIO project in several different capacities since 2016. I began as a developer on FOLIO, and since that time I have represented TAMU on both the Technical Council and the Product Council, where I served as co-chair during my time on both councils.

I am passionate about the FOLIO project and the power of our open-source community to equip libraries to carry out their mission effectively. I would be honored to continue working in the FOLIO community as a member of the Community Council.

I specialize in building library communities and fostering engagement across the library ecosystem. At EBSCO, I work closely with librarians and library leaders through EBSCO International User Groups, International Advisory Boards, and the National Library Forum. My interests include open metadata and its potential to improve discovery, interoperability, and access. I have extensive experience growing membership, driving engagement, and bringing diverse stakeholders together around shared goals. I would be honored to serve on the FOLIO Community Council and help strengthen and expand the FOLIO community.

Mobius Consortium

For more than 30 years, I have led library consortia, technology initiatives, and open-source innovation. I guided MOBIUS's transition from the University of Missouri to an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), growing membership from 50 to 80 libraries. I championed and named OpenRS, with MOBIUS becoming its first production site in 2024. I founded the COOL consortium, helped establish Missouri Evergreen with the Missouri State Library, launched a national Evergreen hosting program serving 800+ libraries, and oversaw the migration of 62 libraries to FOLIO. I serve on the boards of the Open Library Foundation and The Evergreen Project.

Ha sido ponente en diferentes países como Estados Unidos, Perú, Chile, Costa Rica, Perú, Países Bajos, Panamá y otros.

I would like to apply for the FOLIO CC. For just over two years, I have been working as a project coordinator for the BVB’s FOLIO project, and I deal with the migration of our libraries on a daily basis. We have just completed the migration of our 10th library, and 20 more will follow. I have extensive experience in project management, communication, and team leadership. As a political scientist, I am particularly interested in governance, collaboration, and sustainable community building. I am passionate about open-source projects and their public value, and I enjoy driving things forward. I would be delighted to actively contribute to the FOLIO project and to help ensure its long-term success.

I am the Associate University Librarian for Information Technology and Open Scholarship, and Interim Director for Library Administration at Cornell University. I am a former member of the FOLIO Community Council (2021-2025) and, as of last year, I serve as the FOLIO Manager. I bring experience with and a passion for community development, open-source, and open-standards — all key to FOLIO. If re-elected to Community Council I would advocate to increase community membership and engagement, and to focus community efforts on sustainable development and operations that recognize the roles and strengths of vendors and institutions.
