Establish Goals

All

  • This group will:

    • Consolidate plans for CDD from across the three councils

      • The community contribution network establishes a matching model between development providers and community resources.

      • There are 4 documents currently:

        • Two from Mike Gorrell

        • Two from Jeremy Huff

    • Establish a common definition of what Community Driven Development means

      • Community driven development is development done on behalf of the community (Charlotte)

    • Establish a sustainable and effective model for Community Driven Development

      • We need to figure out if there is an effective plan for getting CDD off the ground (Stephen)

      • We need to be mindful of the fact that EBSCO will be scaling back development (Charlotte)

      • We should have a focus on decision making practices (Jenn) ++ Jeremy

      • Hosting and development are separate issues (Charlotte)

      • Hosting is needed for development (Jenn)

      • Release management is another topic needing to be discussed. It might be good for the management of release management to be paid by the FOLIO org (Stephen)

      • Stephen would like to see the conversation scoped to practical concerns WRT hosting (dev/testing environments)

      • There current model leads to knowledge silos within the organizations that do the most development. A CDD model can increase sustainability by bringing some development into the community sphere (Charlotte)

    • Surfacing relevant decisions to the three councils

      • Ideally there would not be a lot of these and what we create should have very little impact on current process

    • Equity
