Updates / Checkins

@Simeon Warner

  • Elections update @Joseph Grobelny @Boaz Nadav Manes

    • Currently there are 10 nominations for CC, 6 for PC, and 5 for TC. Technical Council needs one more nominee. Nominations period has been extended till Fridat the 13th.

    • Joseph will be updating Wiki pages with nominations today.

  • Virtual Member Meeting reflections

    • Boaz (memebr of the Membership subcommitee) thought it went well. Covered a lot of bases. Thanked Kat for the budget video provided. Multiple international libraries talked about their interests in the FOLIO project. Talked about the value of membership and opportunities to contribute. Breakout groups had multiple notes on what changes they would like to see.

    • Possibly need an area on Wiki to share community forums dedicated to members such as this without putting it on YouTube or another media platform.

    • In the future we should aim for an administrator + several individual contributors from each org.

    • Shared feedback from breakout rooms.

    • Shawn relayed the good suggestion to pursue more engagement with the national libraries.

FOLIO Community FY26 Budget

@Kathleen Berry

Budget was tentatively agreed at 2025-05-12 Community Council Meeting Minutes . Review again with confirmation of EBSCO support for FY26

  • Ebsco is willing to continue to absorb the costs they currently pay (bugfest, performance testing, ~$100K) but is open to cost sharing or transitioning to community support.

  • Stephen - We should continue to move toward a model where the Community takes responsibility for doing things like bugfest, performance testing, etc. Whether there are in-kind or direct financial contributions, the community can take a more active role in supporting these activities.

  • Shawn - Thankful for contributions of our vendor partners and need to grow them.

  • Simeon - Do not have the money to move forward with a community support model this FY.

Motion - “Aye” / “Nay” to agree to: 1) budget as discussed last time with grateful acceptance of EBSCO covering these bugfest and perf testing costs, 2) intention to move away from this over the next year so that we won’t ask for exactly the same in FY27. This will rely on more membership revenue and/or greater contributions of time/effort

Motion carried with 6 aye votes 1 abstention. Budget is approved.
