Announcements: https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PC/pages/931070022 with PC now have top 5 for Bulk Edit and Lists App. Next step is to present these at a PC meeting.

  • Goal of PC presentation: awareness & roadmap planning

  • Jennifer to present to PC (likely in November) with Kathleen & Magda in attendance as available

Bulk edit (53 min)

  • Supported Item Statuses

    • Is handling changes to currently supported statuses via API acceptable?

      • Quicker to implement, allows for differences in practice between libraries

      • Once a status is added or modified via the API, it will appear in the UI

      • Table controlling the statuses is not currently available to any modification

    • Feedback:

      • Acceptable, but it is preferrable for that functionality to be in UI

      • Not all users are allowed or have the knowledge necessary to use APIs

      • Changing the list of supported statuses would likely be minimal, but necessary to support library workflows

      • Concerns & questions raised about permissions related to performing status changes

      • Concerns & questions about this functionality enabling users to bypass business logic which would normally prevent such a change

    • Should this type of change be driven by a central office (in a consortium)?

      • Yes.

    • Will the changes likely be needed/done across members in a consortium?

      • Yes, at least for the MOBIUS consortium particularly for OpenRS records

    • Issue tabled until later due to concerns about bypassing business logic concerns

  • Upcoming UATs (most likely after WOLFcon)

    • Defining and using Bulk edit profiles

    • Setting instance records for deletion in bulk

    • Querying repeatable fields
