Housekeeping

  • Attendees - please add your name to the list of attendees

  • Who can take the notes today?

  • With Christine Tobias retiring from her institution at the end of the summer we are looking for volunteers who could take over the FOLIO Docs for the Lists app and Bulk Edit (Users section). Please contact Christine, if you're interested.

    • Amanda Ros contributes to FOLIO Docs as well in collaboration with Christine.

    • Documentation for Sunflower is complete.

    • Documentation for a flower release is due the week before the release is GA.

Amanda is part of the Documentation SIG and will continue to search for someone to take over. It would be great to have someone familiar with the Users side.

Bulk edit

  • Kanban board. Trillium development update (items in progress):

  • Umbrellaleaf features review:

      • Demo a profile with tokens in Setting & use of a profile with tokens

      • Providing a way to create a custom tokens:

      • A list of system-defined tokens will be provided, but user can also create custom tokens

      • High level requirements review & discussion

      • Possibility to skip a scheduled job? (for example, a weekly job doesn’t need/want to be run one week)

        • Not as planned yet, but Magda will look at possibility for future enhancement.

      • Question from Magda: Is there an instance where a user would preserve the schedule, but change the data set modified or profile used?

        • No; safer to create a new job if data set or profile needs to be changed

        • Is it possible to ‘duplicate’ a scheduled job? – not yet, but Magda added it to the feature and will follow up for specifics

      • Question from Magda: Does it sound like a good idea to only delete disabled jobs?

        • Yes

      • Question from Magda: Proposed that preview of changes for a scheduled job would show only 10 records. Thoughts?

        • Could user see first 10 then choose to show more? – Yes, but we still need to put a limit on it

        • What about a limit of 50?

        • The more records we show, the longer it will take generate the preview

        • The query builder currently allows a user to preview top 100

        • Consensus: 100 (for consistency)

      • Question from Magda: how often do you think scheduled jobs will be used?

        • Stanford: rarely

        • General consensus: for large jobs run in off-hours

      • Question from Magda: who will be scheduling jobs? Will it be the same people who create jobs & profiles?

        • Will this user need special permissions or anyone with access/permissions to run to bulk edit?

        • From users: same person who creates a job will need to be able to schedule it

      • Request from user: a list of scheduled jobs for easy review

      • Question from Magda: is there a use case where a successful bulk edit job is turned into a schedule job? Is this needed for first implementation of scheduled jobs?

        • Good to be able to note a job was successful before creating a schedule job, but no group consensus on how important this feature would be

        • Magda will investigate/review how it might be rolled out
