Mikhail’s question (CaiaSoft Accession)

• We have question regarding UXPROD-2880 "Remote storage: automatically split holdings" it is stated, that "FOLIO checks the current instance for the existence of a holdings record with a location which matches the new item’s permanent location".

• Could it be more than one holding with remote location for the instance? (AFAIK technically it could)

If there are more than one such holdings, should Folio take the random one of them?

• Mapping table/accession table (on the server that both FOLIO and CaiaSoft have access to - not part of CaiaSoft) tells the system what to do. (Accession table)

• Use case continuing resources, multipart titles of any format (several volumes of an item)

• In FOLIO, once location changed to remote

• Multiple holdings within Remote storage (law, reference, special collections) (Laura has created API to talk to FOLIO about location changes for Cornell)

• Some libraries will want to create a pre accession job where they manually update item and holdings data, then have CaiaSoft API find the data
