Recent Activity in Slack

  • Updates on https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/UX-568

    • Proposal went well at the PO Meeting on Dec 3, 2025

    • The POs are voting on which UI set-up is preferable. Currently, “Optionally open in new tab using 'ctrl+click' / 'cmd+click / right-click” is in the lead.

    • It seems like this is moving forward--let’s continue to monitor in our meetings as a standing item to stay in the loop.

  • Item State (Laura)

    • We agreed last week that we wanted to devote some of our sessions in the new year to this topic. To start, we want to meet with Tom Trutt, who is available for any January session.

    • Laura points us to a PDF of the proposed epic (see slack: https://open-libr-foundation.slack.com/archives/C04DS8DN9J6/p1764626878056209 ).

    • Right now, I believe the next action is to choose a date to bring Tom to our meeting and publicize it a bit.

  • Keyboard Navigation Focus

    • Kimberly identified a keyboard navigation bug where when users add a new subset of fields (like adding another address in organizations), the focus remains on the "Add" button instead of moving to the newly created fields. This forces keyboard users to tab backward to fill in the new fields, breaking the expected tab flow.

    • We wanted to know if the Accessibility SIG might want to rally around this, so I posted to them this morning: https://open-libr-foundation.slack.com/archives/C96DDV0Q7/p1765368124004779

    • Happy to hand it off to them, but otherwise, do we want to do a “holiday bug hunt” on Monday to just knock this out? That seems fun.
