Claiming UAT Review

Joe Reimers

  • Average time - 45 min. or so to run the test, long time for a UAT

  • UAT Summary

    • 15 participants

    • Mostly CSV, a couple EDI

    • Most people able to complete the test

  • :08 - Interface feedback

  • Feedback on how questions were asked would be appreciated

  • Additional interface feedback

    • Interface is “busy”

    • POLs should be hyperlinks

    • Suggested added fields: Internal note, claim cycle

    • Sort by organization desirable

  • Functionality feedback

    image-20250131-141249.png
  • Additional functionality feedback

    • Does what it’s supposed to do

    • Acq unit development may be needed

    • “Reset all” doesn’t reset to default (“Late” + “Claim active”)

    • “Expected date” and notes should be added to the CSV

    • Can we generate a csv of pieces set to Claim Delay?

  • “Does the functionality meet the requirements to do your day-to-day job?”

    • Nobody said “no”

    • A handful said “yes, with caveats”

  • No potential showstoppers, a couple of minor fixes. Okay to release the claiming app.

  • :16 - Upcoming enhancements:

    • Add expected date and eternal note to CSV file

      • Already completed and will be included in the release

    • Group by organization

      • Already completed and will be included in the release

    • Claim cycles

      • Currently being planned by SLUB Dresden/UB Leipzig

    • E-mail claiming

      • Currently being planned by SLUB Dresden/UB Leipzig

  • :19 - Additional suggested enhancements

    • Acquisition units support

    • Internal notes on claims app display

    • Hyperlink to POL

    • Mark late from within Claiming app

      • Would like feedback from SIG on how many people find that valuable

    • Download CSV of selected receiving pieces (e.g. when delaying a claim)

  • :22 - Next Steps

    • End user documentation

    • Internal documentation

    • Test EDI export with EDIFACT-enabled vendor

      • EBSCOnet will validate EDI format as initial format tester

    • Technical Council review

    • Alignment with SLUB Dresden/UB Leipzig on development path

  • Questions:

    • Can manually mark a claim late even if piece not past expected arrival date?

      • From receiving you can mark it late to get it to show up in the default claiming list

      • Feedback that it might be desirable that items must be in late status to send claim

      • Expected date / claim delay

        • Expected on this date, but how many days after does it become late

      • With certain types of academic journals those can be generous claim delays 60-90 days.

      • Maybe December comes, but November not received yet, may go in and manually mark as late

      • Or if there is no expected date on it, can also manually mark late
