Known Issues

Due to performance reasons, we have made the design decision not to use a drag-and-drop approach.

Instructions

  1. Create and open a new purchase order and purchase order line

    1. Be sure to select “Independent ordering and receiving quantity” because this test may involve adding and removing pieces

    2. Recommended: choose something that would have multiple receiving pieces (e.g. a journal, multi-part monograph, etc.)

  2. Create several receiving pieces for that POL title (recommended: 6 to 12 pieces)

    1. Using the Serials app to generate pieces for testing may streamline this process.

  3. Locate the title to be tested in the Receiving app

  4. Verify that the “Expected” accordion shows all created pieces, that the column “Sequence” appears, and that the pieces are in ascending order based on sequence.

  5. Verify that the “Sequence” column can be sorted both ascending and descending.

  6. Receive some of the expected pieces.

  7. Verify that pieces in the “Received” column are displayed in descending order, and that this is also sortable.

  8. Add a new piece to the list. Verify that:

    1. The sequence field appears and is not editable

    2. The new sequence number is the next in line (i.e. if you created 10 pieces, sequence should show “11 of 11”)

  9. Edit the new piece.

    1. Change the sequence field to a lower number in the sequence

    2. (Optional) Change the display summary, chronology, enumeration, etc. (e.g. as a supplement or unexpected “extra”).

    3. Save the piece

  10. Verify that the piece appears in the correct spot in the list. Verify that other pieces have moved up or down, as needed.

  11. (Optional) Edit an existing piece in the same way as in step 9, but give the piece a higher sequence number. Verify that the other sequence numbers shift appropriately.

  12. Delete the piece created in step 8.

  13. Create a new piece. Verify that the new sequence number also factors in the deleted piece (i.e. if you created 10 pieces and followed these instructions, sequence should show “12 of 12”)

  14. (Optional) Make one or more pieces Unreceivable. Verify the correct sorted display order of those pieces.

  15. (Optional) Feel free to experiment with additional patterns and shifts to simulate common real-world situations.
