Number Generator Demo

• Demonstration on number generator functionality in FOLIO for Organizations and Receiving App:

    • Call Numbers

• How to set up sequences with prefixes, suffixes, and check digits, showing the three main preconditions: creating at least one sequence, enabling the number generator in settings, and having appropriate permissions.

• ~:32 - Per Joe, will need to refactor the whole bulk receiving screen - need to meet with Martina to see how number generators should be incorporated.

• ~:35 - Owen to discuss with Serials Subgroup whether number generators should be available when creating expected pieces in Serials Management.

Implementers Topic # 185 - Group Financial Summary

• With split of “Credited” and “Expended” lines in Finance app, would still be helpful to see a line combining them together.

• At Michigan State, FOLIO is a shadow system to university’s accounting system - in accounting system do not break out credits.

• Have to do calculations at end of fiscal year. Would be very convenient to have line in the summary that puts expenditures and credits together.

• Joe - Should be able to come up with, just a question of how. Second line, reporting app, etc.

• Where to have this information? - Ledger Group Accordion, Group Segment, etc.

• Doesn’t matter where it displays, as long as it can be accessed - is in Group for sure, not the whole ledger

• Straightforward - Add a line to financial summary pages - all follow same pattern

  • Put it on every screen instead of picking one

Implementers Topic # 186 - 0-amount encumbrances

• Would like to have the option to hide encumbrances with 0 amount in Transactions overview in the Finance App.

• Suggestion that the encumbrances can be released manually.

• Have to create $0 encumbrances because null encumbrances create issues with math and calculations

• Sara - use encumbrances to see what hasn’t been paid; need this, so please don’t make it go away automatically

• Encumbrance has to exist at some level
