Instructions
Configuration
In the “Settings” app, select “Finance” → “Exchange rate source”
Check the “Specify exchange rate provider” box
Under “Exchange rate provider type” choose “treasury.gov”
Under “Exchange rate provider URI” enter
https://api.fiscaldata.treasury.gov/services/api/fiscal_service/v1/accounting/od/rates_of_exchangeLeave all other fields blank and click “save”
Testing
Create a new purchase order and purchase order line
Under “Cost details” → “Currency”, choose a currency other than US Dollar. Do NOT check the “set exchange rate” box.
Verify that the exchange rate automatically appears and that the exchanged value box shows the rate converted into USD. Note that when treasury.gov is used as the exchange rate source, the exchange rate will always appear as $1 USD = X foreign currency, but FOLIO will calculate foreign currency to USD.
OPTIONAL: Exchange rates can be verified at https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/datasets/treasury-reporting-rates-exchange/treasury-reporting-rates-of-exchange.
OPTIONAL: You can change currencies at will as long as the order is pending in order to test multiple currency checks.
Create a new invoice and invoice line related to the purchase order line.
Verify the invoice exchange rate lookup is working correctly, as above. Again, feel free to experiment with multiple currencies.
