Bulk edit of protected fields is done with the rules applied by “Data import“ app. Below described the scenarios of different bulk edit actions and how they are applied to protected fields

The following fields are protected in "Settings" => "Data import" => "MARC field protection":

Issue – Backslash “\” is not allowed to be populated in Ind 1, Ind 2

Scenario 1 – Add 562 field

Actual result: Protected field added successfully. Added field displayed in both files

Scenario 2 – Append subfield to 505 field

Actual result: Initial field is not edited. New field with appended subfield is added. As the result there are two fields in SRS  (bulk edit file shows only one field)

Scenario 3 – Find & remove subfield from 520 field

Actual result: Initial field is not edited. New field with removed subfield is added. As the result there are two fields in SRS (bulk edit file shows only one field)

Scenario 4 – Find & remove 932 field

Scenario 5 – Replace data on 942 field
