Notes
Emma - Data Element Review (elements identified by gap analysis)
- Information from inventory on loan record. We continued discussion about inventory elements on loan record. Are there any additional elements from inventory that should be copied to loan record? It may be helpful to have damage and pieces missing information.
2. Information about loan policy and why it was applied. We discussed the downside of editing loan rules; namely, the historical loan would lose the original policy.
Cheryl - Historical data migration.
We discussed document (https://docs.google.com/document/d/19YmhThCILK8VZ1rYBSMPYJPdqbMxnPJNzIXqRQNuWpQ/edit) regarding planning for RA data migration. Each institution needs to analyze and decide; then we can deduplicate by category. Please send details of your local needs to Cheryl who will try to organize and prioritize the needed elements.
Chicago's planning for OLE included: 1. local archive of old system. Retained things like closed fines, loans in archived systems. 2. Understanding the limits of OLE. 3. Cut-off dates for things like "expired patrons". 4. Retained/migrated recently expired patrons and expired patrons with open transactions.
Need two or three institutions to report to Cheryl by Wednesday to meet deadline.
